Just when you thought you had seen all there was in lightweight foam models we come along and bring out the Phase 3 range.
A selection of both monoplanes and biplanes for indoor or still-air outdoor use. Each is made from a special laminate of paper/foam/paper to provide a strong structure that resists damage and can carry a dramatic colour scheme. By limiting the laminate to just 4.5mm and using a tissue-light paper to print on, we've managed to keep weight to an absolute minimum. Unlike so many of these models the Phase 3 designs have a solid colour scheme printed on all sides. No single surface, transparent colours here!!!
Each model has factory installed carbon strip spars and fuselage stiffeners for strength, without the unsightly wood so often used in such models. The undercarriage struts are also made from Carbon and locate into moulded plastic brackets on strengthened areas.
All you need to do is add a motor/gearbox (Phase 3 directdrive, brushless recommended) and lightweight 4- channel R/C. The Saturn range are ideal servo choices for the right combination of weight, power and size. The '3D' brigade will love these models if you go 'Digital' Saturn! Even on two cells, the flight performance is amazing.
